You Made It: Vintage Wallpaper Oragami Boxes

08.19.10

I adored LoraJean’s vintage wallpaper boxes the first time I saw them, so of course, I was thrilled when she dropped me a note to say she had, with the help of her 5-year-old videographer, posted a video tutorial. LoraJean wrote, “I was wishing I had a box to wrap in wallpaper when I realized I could just make the box itself with the old wallpaper.” So inventive, so lovely. Can’t you just imagine stacks of these at a party or wedding all filled with take-home momentos?

Hi AmberLee – First, happy birthday! Re-reading Anne of Green Gables sounds like a great way to celebrate (I love nostalgic reading!).

Second, you are reading my mind with this post! Lorajean and I have been swapping comments and I JUST drafted a post last night about her wallpaper boxes. I hope you don’t mind that something so similar will be going up on The Gifted Blog! Feel free to be in touch about it this week if you have thoughts. Personally, I think the boxes are so good they deserve all the mentions they can get.

Have a good one!

What a great, and very green, idea. I’m beginning to look around the blogsphere to find alternatives to using so much wrapping paper over the holidays. This is getting added to my list. Thanks for sharing it!

Where did you find the gift wrap? I am looking for those exact colors for a baby shower.
