Chocolate for Someone Who Melts Your Heart

02.09.10

We will be sharing this Sunday with some very special Valentines, great grandma and grandpa. I can’t think of anything sweeter. So yesterday we got to work making my hot chocolate on a stick recipe in an appropriate form to enjoy on Valentines day. I was very pleased with how they turned out. Do you like them? And I thought they were a perfect treat for my kids too, a few other people who melt my heart.

And I wanted to share this with you, a garland I saw on PurlBee and whipped up on my sewing machine this morning to share with the readers over at SEI. It took me about 25 minutes, and that includes cleanup time. That’s my kind of sewing project.

Hi Rachelle!
I just picked up some heart molds at Sur la Table last week for a buck or two. I’ve seen these at Michael’s too.

I am making a similar garland of hearts for a bridal shower I’m planning–it looks great!

Pretty sure you copied that garland from the purl bee . . . that tutorial’s been all over the web, just with circles instead of hearts. but the felt, invisible thread stitching, and even color scheme are the same. give people credit for their ideas please.

Thank you, Mary!! I’m so relieved you brought this to my attention. I gave credit on the SEI blog (it doesn’t look like SEI has had a chance to get it up yet today, but I just went back and double checked my draft for them) and when I used the idea earlier in my blog (http://giverslog.com/?p=4991) I also gave credit. I was in a big rush to get this up this morning before taking my son to preschool I must have forgotten that I hadn’t duplicated it here. I appreciate the comment and will add the link right away!!

I just wanted you to know, Amber, that I stumbled upon your blog awhile back, and now I’m here daily! You’re so creative and I love that you lead us to other creative blogs like yours, but I always come right back:)
Keep it up!

love your garland! I’ve had that PurlBee garland tagged to make for a surprise party I have coming up. I love your tweak of doing hearts rather than circles. (and happy to know it really is an easy project!)
