At our house, we are all about the sprinkles.
I think it all stemmed from having three very picky eaters for children.
What? You don’t want a peanut butter sandwich on wheat? How about a peanut butter sandwich on wheat with sprinkles? Yes?
Now we pull out sprinkles more for special occasions, any time we need a little party to celebrate some accomplishment earned. Sprinkles on yogurt, sprinkles on breakfast. Sprinkles are the perfect instant party, aren’t they?
So we thought sprinkles would also make the perfect Valentine surprise. We mailed off a few over the weekend.
If you found sprinkles in your mailbox, what would you sprinkle?

Love the mailing sprinkles! How and what did you wrap around the sprinkles container?
Hi Sarah!
THanks for the note!! I actually did a double layer of heavier-duty kraft paper. The first I taped around the bottle really well with packaging tape, the second I added the address too, then taped it on the back really well to the first layer. Simple, and plenty of room for address and stamps!
Ah, I see. Now I know why your blog is so fun to read. You’re an optimist. Does the USPS actually get those to their destination unbroken? (Or uneaten?)
Hi Marti,
Thanks for the note : ) So far, yes, I’ve had everything arrive in good condition. I did have one or two packages take quite a while, but it’s been a really positive experience.
Sprinkles make everything better!
When my DD was little she would not eat oatmeal , untill i started to top it with sprinkles. She still will only eat it that way.
MIchele,
It sounds like your daughter and my kids would get along : )
Hi Amber. Our issue is that our postal guy refuses to pick up anything that is not standard, so any cute little packages like this, he leaves! Guess i could run it into town!!!
Hi Jennifer,
That does make things a little more of a hassle!! I do usually bring mine with me in the car and now know where about 4 blue mailboxes are on my routes around town! Still, kinda a shame your postman leaves them!
Wow, such a neat idea! I’ll definitely try that this Valentines Day!
I loved the grainy heart! ^^
What a cute way to mail these! I would sprinkle EVERYTHING! My oatmeal..my smoothies…my cupcakes..my banana..EVERYTHING!
How fun! If you got the sprinkles on clearance then this would be so frugal! Thanks for the great idea!
So cute!! There’s something about sprinkles that makes everyone smile :-)
Too precious!! I love them on birthday cakes!
Amber, you are the cutest and a genius! Sprinkles on a sandwich to entice a picky eater? Brilliant!
Wow…I love the way you mailed those sprinkles. And as I scrolled down the comments I noticed that you mailed a frisbee too (no box required). I’ve got to try this. Wonder if anyone ever opens the bottle…you know, steal a sprinkle or two! LOL
We love sprinkles too and if we’re in dire need of a special treat we spread some nutella on a milk arrowroot biscuit (like a sugar cookie) and a few sprinkles and I become the best mum in the world :)
Just wanted to let you know I referenced and linked to your 13 oz or less category on my recent blog post “Snail Mail” on tolovewell.com. http://tolovewell.com/wp/?p=47. Thanks for the awesome ideas!
