I am feeling like I do about a week before Christmas–when I just know I picked out a perfect gift for someone and I can hardly stand it because I want them to open it right now.
I wanted to get something special for my son’s Kindergarten teacher this year. And just take a look.
I stopped by Meant To Be Calligraphy, a shop run by the lovely and amazing Michele (who happens to be neighbors in real life to Suann). After I spent about an hour looking through her calligraphy gallery, I picked out a stamp for our awesome teacher,

and one for me too. I couldn’t help it.
(incase you’re wondering, the lettering styles I finally decided on were durham and glade)
This is part one of our gift. I’ll be putting my kindergartener to work to finish up and make part two. Which I hope to share soon.
By the way, one of my less favorite-moments of parenthood is having your kindergartener not be a kindergartner any more. I am trying to prepare myself for that last day!

I totally agree…. tomorrow is my daughter’s last day of kindergarten and i am quite emotional knowing how much she is grown in just a year and how her need for mommy has changed so much. i can hardly believe she’ll be in first grade. i cried and cried last year on my son’s last day of kindergarten and now i have to face it again this year. if only we could keep them small forever :)
I love it!!! and I’m sure she will too…hmmm..wonder where I could get one of those around here…
Oh, I love this idea! I agree about the less favorite moments of parenthood. I just got back from my sons kindergarten show and I’m so sad. Kindergarten is all magic and light and I’m sad to get on with “academics!”
What a thoughtful gift! When I was teaching school I would have blown away at such a lovely gift from a parent.
Fantastic idea! And, what beautiful calligraphy! Even the packaging is lovely!
As a kindergarten teacher (who just finished her last day of the year), I would have DIED over that gift!!! So thoughtful and practical!! Especially if you didn’t put “Mrs.” on the stamp, then she can use it at home, too. I didn’t recieve anything like that… but I do love my coffee cards! I’m sure she will love it, and appreciate the thoughtfulness behind it. Happy Summer! You child is growing, that is the ultimate goal!! Be Happy!!
I took a look on thier website because I would love to order a stamp with my name…do they do that, I cant seem to find anything about it
Hi Sara,
Thanks for the note! Yes, just contact Michele directly (info@meanttobecalligraphy.com). She is wonderful and will definitely let you know about anything you want and how she will do it. I absolutely love mine. I keep stamping my name all over everything because I just love how it looks.
