Inspire: Wrapping

12.02.10

I have been combing the web for inspiration on how to wrap my gifts this year and came across some beauties.  Mind if I share?

I love the layering and details here.  And I’m a sucker for brown paper packages :)

The oversized flower really takes this newsprint wrapping up a notch.  And I love that they added some curly ribbon!

via

Such a great way to use old maps!

via

I loooove this shirt wrapping.  And the brooch?  Lovely.

Adding jingle bells to a sheet music wrapped gift?  Why didn’t I think of that?!?

The floral additions to this monochromatic gift add so much interest!

Ok, I about died when I saw this!  Typography?  On a present?  Ah!  I may never use a bow again.

I love the the usefulness of a fabric bag.  And the chalkboard tag is so cute!

via

Such pretty details here.  Do you see the little pop-up village on the bottom gift?  Love it!

I love felt.  And this felt box is fantastic.

I love this fabric wrapping.  I have visions of pretty scarves and tea towels being used.  (The linked website has a great video on how to wrap with fabric.  At the very end they show a fantastic way to make a bag out of a square of fabric.  It’s not to be missed :)

Do you have any favorite wrapping techniques or materials?  Please share!

I love the wrapping! What great ideas. I really liked the packages with the names on them, how would you be able to do that? Thanks again for the great ideas!

I did the typography idea last year. My gifts really stood out among the others, and everyone knew which ones were from me.

I always do something different, each year… haven’t decided what “it” will be this year…

Hi Teresa!

There is a pretty good tutorial on the link, but basically she just printed out the alphabet, cut out the letters, and glued them onto the package. Here is a link to a downloadable alphabet template if you didn’t want to create your own: http://creaturecomforts.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/12/fontastic-gift-wrapping.html (Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the templates). Good luck!

Crystal, great roundup! It’s been particularly fun for me this season to keep an eye out for the gift wrap ideas coming from many talented people! I like the Country Living ones you highlighted – I never had much interest in the magazine, but after their gift wrapping feature I’m intrigued.

I love the fabric bag too, I prefer to used it than papers, well having a nice gift bag or gift wrapper makes the gift more attractive even though the gift itself is not that nice.
